Perham/New York Mills divers Brittney Lorentz and Avery McAllister wrapped up their diving careers at the state swimming and diving competition last week. The meet was held at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus.

Lorentz secured a fifth place finish with a final score of 354.7, while McAllister missed the podium by just 8 points by placing 10th with a final score of 331.6. The pair has finished in first and second place in every meet this season, with the exception of the Section 8A championship where Lorentz took first place and McAllister took third.

This is the fourth time Lorentz has advanced to state, while McAllister has qualified for three state meets.

In addition to the divers, Taylor Ziemke competed at state in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished in 21st place in the preliminaries with a time of 25.01.
