The Cultural Center in New York Mills will host a variety of events throughout the month of December.

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is offering a multitude of opportunities to get into the holiday spirit this year.

Meat Raffle at NYM VFW 

The Cultural Center is partnering with the local VFW to raise funds for its community programs. Join board or staff volunteers at NY Mills VFW Post 3289 each month on the second Friday at 6 p.m. for a chance to win some delicious meat to take home. Next on Friday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. Open to all.

Art for Lunch

Wire Ornaments held on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 12 p.m. (and every second Thursday) Open to all ages 16+. Bring a lunch and enjoy a beverage on the Cultural Center. A $10 fee covers supplies and instruction by Artistic Director Cheryl Bannes. Call ahead at 385-3339 to guarantee a spot, or just show up.

Longest Night Music Festival

The Longest Night Music Festival is an annual community favorite. Held each year on December 21 at 7 p.m., an eclectic mix of beloved local artists play music, share poetry and celebrate the spirit of the season and community connections. The event is free to attend and open to everyone. Cash bar and snacks provided.

Sit and Stich

Sit and Stitch is an informal gathering of local fiber artists held weekly at the Cultural Center on Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Come work on art projects, visit with other fiber art enthusiasts, peruse the Cultural Center’s free assortment of shared yarns, needles, and supplies, and make new connections.
