The New York Mills Civic & Commerce will be hosting their annual Community Kick-Off event again this year on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at the NY Mills City Hall Ballroom. A social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. with light refreshments and the meeting will start at 6 p.m.
“Come join us to celebrate the successes of the prior year and look forward to what we have in store for 2024!” said Latham Hetland, president of the Civic & Commerce.
The event will feature several speakers throughout the night with updates on the state of NY Mills. Mayor Marsha Maki will give a state of the city address, Blaine Novak will be speaking about the School District updates, and Police Chief Bobby Berndt will be giving a safety update as well.
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Erik Osberg, Rural Rebound Coordinator at Otter Tail County. Osberg recently won a prestigious Emmy award for his work on the docu-series ‘Rural By Choice’ which centers on letting the world know about the great reasons to live in Otter Tail County.
Food will be provided and refreshments will be available from the Lions Bar during the event. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome to join the event.
