The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met December 14 with 16 members present.

Minutes from the November 9 meeting were approved, and the November 30 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for December 2023 from the Department President was read and discussed. The Mid-Winter Conference will be January 12-14 in Brooklyn Park. Thank you notes were received for a donation to Bingo at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home and for a silent auction item at the New York Mills Tree Festival.

Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2023-2024.  Our Auxiliary purchased 25 food baskets for shut-ins and veterans.  We made 760 Christmas cards at the NYM Tree Festival and sent them to veterans at the Fargo, Fergus Falls, Luverne and Silver Bay homes.

In other business

• Approved payment of bills.

• Approved community outreach project for the Salvation Army. Auxiliary members will participate as bell ringers.

• Approved adopting three residents at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home and purchasing Christmas presents for them. Auxiliary members will shop and deliver the gifts.

• Approved paying annual dues for one Auxiliary member.

• Approved hotel expenses for those attending the Mid-Winter Conference.

• Approved a sponsorship for the Special Olympics Minnesota Polar Plunge in February.

• Approved a monetary hardship donation to an Auxiliary member.

  Our next meeting will be Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6 p.m.
