Local students graduate from M State

The following students are among the 254 Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) graduates of the 2023 fall semester. M State has campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena.

Local students who graduated from M State include: Marty Irons, New York Mills, Liberal Arts & Sciences-AA; Josephine Piepkorn, New York Mills, Cosmetology-Diploma; Josephine Piepkorn, New York Mills, Eyelash Extension Technician-Certificate and Macenzie Schultz, New York Mills, Liberal Arts & Sciences-AA.

  A member of the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities, M State (Minnesota State Community and Technical College) serves more than 10,000 students in credit and non-credit courses each year in over 70 career and liberal arts programs online and in-person at its four campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena. The college also partners with communities to provide workforce development services and other responsive training programs to 500 businesses and thousands of annual participants.

CLC announces fall honors lists

Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples, has announced its 2023 fall semester honors lists. 

  The President’s List includes 369 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 to 4.0 while enrolled for at least 12 credits.

  The Dean’s List includes 341 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.74 while enrolled for at least 12 credits.

Local students named to the President’s List and Dean’s List include:  Jason Maloney, Deer Creek, Dean’s List; Vennesa Henderson, New York Mills, Dean’s List; Jevon Pedersen, New York Mills, President’s List; Tayla Pedersen, New York Mills, President’s List and Scott Huttunen, Staples, Dean’s List.

  Central Lakes College is a comprehensive community and technical college in the Minnesota State System. The college serves about 5,500 students annually in liberal arts and career education programs.

Gustavus Adolphus College announces 2023 Fall Semester Dean’s List 

The Fall Semester Dean’s List at Gustavus Adolphus College has been released. The list comprises students who have earned a 3.7 grade point average (based on a scale in which 4.0 = A) or higher for the semester ending in December 2023.

  The following local students were named to the Dean’s List at Gustavus Adolphus College: Eli Olson, New York Mills. 

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minn. that prepares 2,200 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. The oldest Lutheran college in Minnesota, Gustavus was founded in 1862 by Swedish immigrants and named for Swedish King Gustav II Adolf. At Gustavus, students receive personal attention in small-sized classes and engage in collaborative research with their professors. UW-La Crosse announces Fall 2023 Dean’s List

The following area students have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year, ending December 2023.

  Qualification for the Dean’s List is limited to students who have attained outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible, students must have earned at least a 3.5 semester grade point average and carried a minimum of 12 credits. 

Students on the Dean’s List from this area include:  Maya Radniecki, New York Mills, Radiologic Science Major: Diagnostic Medical Sonography with General/Vascular Emphasis.

Lehti graduates from The College of St. Scholastica

Taylor Lehti of New York Mills graduated from The College of St. Scholastica with a CERT in Literacy Instruction. Congratulations, Taylor!
