Local residents sentenced in Otter Tail County Court

0Timothy Dale Schmidt, 30, of Perham, received a stay of adjudication in county court, Fergus Falls, on Dec. 29, 2023, related to a felony conviction of fifth-degree felony drug possession. Under a stay of adjudication, while the probation is going on, this is a pending case, the same as being charged and awaiting trial. Once probation is over the case against Schmidt will be dismissed.
Schmidt was ordered by the judge to complete a comprehensive assessment and follow recommendations of the evaluation. Supervised probation is for five years. He must adhere to no alcohol/controlled substance use.
Thomas Dale Olson, 64, of Wadena, had a sentence for a fifth-degree felony drug possession stayed for five years if he remains law abiding. The offense was previously committed in Otter Tail County.
The judge, on Dec. 18, 2023, ordered Olson to complete a comprehensive assessment and follow recommendations of the evaluation. He must adhere to no alcohol/controlled substance use and follow directives of his probation agent. If Olson violates any agreements with the court he could be sentenced to one year in the state correctional facility in St. Cloud.
