Sheriff deputies, on Feb. 27, reported that one person was injured in a traffic accident east of New York Mills. The mishap took place close to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Industrial Park Road and 550th Avenue in eastern Otter Tail County.

The driver, trying to avoid hitting a deer, lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree. This resulted in cuts to the diver on the hands and face. The vehicle was totaled and was towed from the scene of the accident.

Theft of wire reported

A business on the east side of Fergus Falls, near Highway 210, reported the theft of wire on Feb. 27. The value of the wire, according to sheriff deputies, was estimated between $500 and $700.

Approximately 100 feet of 1.5 DIA wire was taken.

Theft reported in Henning

A renter at an apartment in Henning, on Feb. 9, reported the theft of several items. Some damage to personal items also was reported to authorities.

The investigation was continuing as of Monday, Feb. 12.
