Don’t forget to bring a smile, but perhaps more importantly, a bucket with a solid bottom to Smith Park in New York Mills, as well as Bluffton Community Park on Saturday. After all, there is nothing worse than having a bag develop a hole, or have a basket give out from the weight of colorful plastic eggs filled with prizes and candy.
On Saturday morning the NY Mills Easter Egg Hunt will get underway at 10 a.m. The egg hunt is being planned for Smith Park, but in the event of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be held at the NY Mills School.
Like in years past, parents are asked to register their child when they come to the park or the school so event organizers can divide up the eggs accordingly. Each child will be able to go home with a predetermined amount of eggs so everyone will have a little snack through the long Easter weekend.
Children will be divided into age categories and special prizes will be given away at the conclusion of the egg hunt.
In addition to the egg hunt the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance to snap a few pictures and provide some extra cheer for the holiday.
In addition to the NY Mills egg hunt, Bluffton will be hosting an egg hunt of its own on Saturday morning at the community park at 10:30 a.m. The egg hunt is free and is open to all children ages 0-10. The event is hosted by the Bluffton community and the Bluffton Hometown Days Planning Committee.
Ottertail egg hunt
Most people don’t associate magic with Easter, but the Ottertail Business and Community Association has a unique trick up its sleeve this year—showcasing how to make better-than 6,000 colorful Easter eggs disappear in the blink of an eye.
The annual OTBCA Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday at the community park in Ottertail. The egg hunt will begin at 12 p.m. and all 6,200 candy and prize-filled Easter eggs will be claimed in a matter of minutes.
OTBCA President Ron Grobeck said the egg hunt continues to grow in popularity each year and is a kick off of sorts to the busy summer season in Ottertail.
“It is very well attended,” said Grobeck. “We will have two Easter bunnies that will be there.”
Last year Grobeck said a statewide organization named Ottertail’s egg hunt among the top 200 egg hunts in the entire state of Minnesota.
Prior to the egg hunt and again after it is completed, those who attend can get their pictures taken with one of two Easter bunnies who will be inside the community center, as well as roaming around people outside.
