Author Frank White visited with students at New York Mills School, as well as the New York Mills Library last week as part of his stop in town to promote his book “They Played For the Love of the Game.” The book detailed African American baseball players in Minnesota from the 1870s to the 1960s. White’s own father was one of the top catchers in the Twin Cities in his day and the book details a portion of his baseball career.
