The New York Mills School Board has narrowed its search for a new school superintendent to just two finalists.

The two finalists include Hill City School Superintendent Adam Johnson, as well as North Sargent, N.D. School Superintendent Ryan Moser. The two finalists were selected from a pool of four semi-finalists, which included East Grand Forks Superintendent Bryan Hackbarth and Badger School Superintendent Kevin Ricke.

The first round of interviews was held on Friday and Saturday at NY Mills School.

The semi-finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on criteria established by the school board and input provided by stakeholders through a survey.

The school board will host its second interview with both Johnson and Moser on Tuesday, April 9. Both of the interviews will be held in the high school media center and are open to the public.

The need to find a new school superintendent came after longtime NY Mills School Superintendent Blaine Novak informed the school board earlier this year of his intent to retire from the school district at the end of June.
