Max Geiser placed fourth at the NYWA state wrestling tournament.

New York Mills went 2-3 at the youth state wrestling tournament. The team competed with 32 total teams from across the state from March 6-7

The Eagles took eighth place in bracket C on Saturday falling to Sartell 56-24, LCWM 48-31, and BHVPP by a score of 43-33.  The Eagles finished off the State Tournament by winning the championship in Pool 8 and defeating Canby 39-33 and Springfield by score of 38-35.  

This was New York Mills first time ever wrestling in the Northland Youth Wrestling Association (NYWA) youth state tournament. It was an amazing experience and the kids enjoyed competing together as a team in a very cool wrestling environment.  

New York Mills also had two individuals place in the individual state tournament.  Steel Mursu placed sixth in the PreK-K 50 pound weight class, while Max Geiser placed fourth in the third grade 60 pound weight class.
