The New York Mills School Board has voted to select Adam Johnson, Superintendent, Hill City, Mnn. as the district’s new superintendent.

“We had a large pool of candidates to choose from and are excited about moving forward in this next chapter for New York Mills schools,” said Wendy Hetland, Board Chair.

The NY Mills School Board will be conducting contract negotiations with Johnson, and a contract is expected to be approved by the school board at an upcoming school board meeting.

Johnson was one of two finalists who conducted a second interview in New York Mills last week. In addition to Johnson, the NY Mills School Board interviewed North Sargent, N.D. School Superintendent Ryan Moser on Tuesday evening.

The pending start date for Johnson will be July 1.
