Ayla Olson drove in four runs on two hits to lead New York Mills past Parkers Prairie 11-10 on Tuesday, April 9. Olson hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the first inning, scoring one.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as NY Mills Varsity collected nine hits and Parkers Prairie 11 in the high-scoring affair.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning thanks to two doubles. NY Mills first got on the board when Olson doubled, scoring one run.

NY Mills scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. Annika Dunrud grounded out, scoring one run, Olson homered to center field, scoring three runs, a steal of home scored one run, and Rosemary Laudenbach drew a walk, scoring one run.

Laudenbach earned the win for the Eagles as she allowed 11 hits and 10 runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking 10. 

Revering took the loss for Parkers Prairie. She went two innings, giving up nine runs on six hits, striking out three and walking five.

Grace Brasel led the Eagles with three hits in three at bats. Violet Radniecki collected two hits for NY Mills in four at bats. Brasel stole three bases and the team stole seven bases in the game. 

Parkers Prairie accumulated 11 hits in the game. Revering led Parkers Prairie with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The pitcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Mckeown and Revering each collected three hits for Parkers Prairie. 

April 11

NY Mills Varsity Eagles lost to the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs 4-2 on Thursday, April 11.

OTC got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Sophie Akerman doubled, Kenady Cameron grounded out, Lily Conner walked, and Esme Larsen stole home, each scoring one run.

Rosemary Laudenbach pitched 5 1/3 innings in relief for NY Mills. The reliever gave up three hits and zero runs while, striking out four and walking six. Annika Dunrud led things off in the circle and surrendered two hits and four runs over 2/3 of an inning, striking out one and walking three. 

Akerman began the game for OTC and allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.

Bella Huwe and Dunrud each drove in one run for NY Mills. Dunrud went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole a pair of bases to lead the way for the Eagles. 

Liz Lukken, Brooklyn Christianson, Larsen, Cameron, and Akerman each collected one hit for OTC. Conner, Cameron, and Akerman each drove in one run for OTC Bulldogs. 

The loss drops NY Mills to 1-1 on the season. All of their games last week were canceled due to inclement weather.
