Park Region Conference meet set for Tuesday

With the sub section meet right around the corner, the New York Mills Eagles competed in a pair of meets last week.

On Tuesday the Eagles competed in the Section 6A True Team meet in Pelican Rapids, before traveling to the Daggett Invitational in Frazee on Thursday.

This week the Eagles will travel to Pillager on Tuesday night for the Park Region Conference meet, before heading to Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday. 

Tuesday

Payton Lausten captured third place in the 300-meter hurdles to lead the charge for NY Mills at the Section 6A True Team meet. Lausten finished the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.10. 

Jada Goesen took sixth place in the 3200-meter run with a personal best time of 13:09.97 and she also finished in seventh place in the 1600-meter run with a season best time of 5:47.18.

Alexis Rudolph finished in seventh place in the shot put with a personal best throw of 29’ 10 1/2”.

Posting a personal best on Tuesday was: Shaila Roberts in the shot put with a throw of 28’ 4 1/2”, Morgyn O’Dea in the long jump with a jump of 12 10 3/4”, Jessiah Jesus in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.61, Elijah Geiser in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.17, as well as in the triple jump with a jump of 29’ and Jeron Witt in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:07.43. 

Posting a season best time was Morgyn O’Dea in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.44, the 4×400-meter relay team of Katherin Garcia, Morgyn O’Dea, Payton Lausten and Jada Goesen with a time of 4:40.95 and Jeron Witt in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:24.33.

Other times on Tuesday include: Payton Lausten in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.91, Katherin Garcia in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.27, Alexis Rudolph in the discus with a throw of 75’ 10 1/4”, Shaila Roberts in the discus with a throw of 67’ 9 1/4”, Jessiah Jesus in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.54 and the long jump with a jump of 13’ 11 1/2”, Elijah Kaufmann in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.85, Elijah Geiser in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.99 and the long jump with a jump of 15’ 4 3/4”.

Thursday

On Thursday the Eagles traveled to Frazee for the Daggett Invitational. Payton Lausten captured first place it he 300-meter hurdles with a season best time of 52.21, while Elijah Geiser took first place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:32.83 and Jeron Witt took first place in the 3200-meter run with at time of 14:46.75. Lausten also took fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 30.21.

On the girls side, Katherin Garcia posted three season best times to take third place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.39, a fifth place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.46 and a sixth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.38.

Jada Goesen catapulted third place in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 1:04.11 and took fourth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.71. 

Alexis Rudolph picked up a pair of third place finishes in the shot put and discus with a throw in the shot put of 28’ 10” and  a throw of 78’ 11” in the discus. 

On the boys side, Carl Peterman posted a personal best in the discus with a throw of 94’ 7” to finish in second place and also took fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 32’, while Elijah Geiser posted a season best time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.30. He also posted a person best in the triple jump of 31’ to finish in fourth place and took fifth place in the long jump with a jump of 15’ 5 1/2”. 

In addition to his first place finish in the 3200-meter run, Witt took sixth place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:27.36.

Posting a personal best time but not placing in the top six was Morgyn O’Dea in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:04.95.
