Goeson takes first in 800-meter run

Jada Goeson took first place in the 800-meter run and the New York Mills track team set 11 new personal records at the Park Region Conference meet in Pillager on Tuesday night.

  Goeson took first place in the 800-meter run with a season best time of 2:26.14, while Payton Lausten took second place in the 300-meter hurdles with a season best time of 51.31. 

In the 4×400-meter relay, the Eagles team of Katherin Garcia, Morgyn O’Dea, Lausten and Goeson took second place with a time of 4:26.15. 

Alexis Rudolph and Shaila Roberts both posted personal records in the shot put as Rudolph took third place with a throw of 30’4 1/2” and Roberts took fourth with a throw of 29’9”. Rudolph also took fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.07.

The girls team placed sixth out of seven teams with 40 total points, while the boys team took seventh place in the meet. 

Setting a personal record, but not placing in the top six overall were: Cole Wilson in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.54, Jessiah Jesus in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.73 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.18, Elijah Kaufmann in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.17, Garcia in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.96, O’Dea in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.56, Carl Peterman in the discus with a throw of 98’7” and the shot put with a throw of 34’1” and Roberts in the discus with a throw of 74’9”.

Posting a season best time, but not placing in the top six were: Elijah Geiser in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.82 and the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:24.38, as well as Jeron Witt in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:22.83.
