Kevin Lovegreen, author of the popular Lucky Luke’s Adventures series, visits New York Mills on Wednesday, June 12, at 1 p.m.  Lovegreen has published 20 books for children, ranging from picture books to chapter books. The series follows Lucky Luke in his hunting or fishing escapades.

In his presentation, Lovegreen will describe the behind-the-scenes team involved in creating a book: author, editor, illustrator, designer, and printer. He’ll also answer audience questions about writing and publishing—and about how his own stories came to life. The event is free and open to the public, but preregistration at least one week in advance is requested.

Please call the NY Mills Public Library at 385-2436 or go to their website www.nympubliclibrary.org. This program is funded in part with monies from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund and sponsored by the New York Mills Public Library and Viking Library System.

A lifelong Minnesotan, Kevin Lovegreen began publishing professionally in 2011. His most recent book, Fishing with Grandpa, features both Lucky Luke and his sister Crystal. Lovegreen’s mission is to inspire children to read, write, and enjoy the outdoors. To this end, he has visited over 200 schools and presented to thousands of kids in the United States.

The NY Mills Public Library is located at 30 Main Ave N, NY Mills.
