0After 36 years of dedicated service, Terry Hoff has retired from Otter Tail County’s facilities department. In his career, which began on March 22, 1988, Hoff has seen significant transformations in County facilities.
County Commissioner Board Chair Kurt Mortenson presented Hoff with a plaque, expressing the board’s appreciation for Hoff’s dedication.
“You have advanced our facilities to improve customer services and laid a foundation for the preventative maintenance program. Thank you,” he said.
As the head of the facilities department for the past 13 years, Hoff has played an important role in overseeing numerous projects aimed at enhancing the county’s infrastructure, from the new courtroom expansion to the recent renovations at the Courthouse and Government Services Center.
Reflecting on his career, Hoff expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the improvement and maintenance of county facilities.
“It has been a great ride,” said Hoff. “I have enjoyed being involved in the new courtroom expansion and the recent renovations at the Courthouse and Government Services Center. I have always taken great pride in the buildings and grounds of our county facilities,” he said.
“I have worked with Terry for 33 years, and it’s fun to think back at when I started and how the department has changed over that time,” said Doug Cannell, Operations Supervisor. “I think one of the more important things that Terry helped get going was the preventive maintenance program that we are still using to this day. I think Terry will be able to look back and know that he is leaving the county buildings better than he found them. He will also be taking with him over 35 years of experience and that will be missed.”
Hoff plans to spend time with his family, play golf and do some traveling.
