The Bluffton Braves split a doubleheader at Clarissa on Sunday afternoon. The Braves lost the first game by a score of 5-0, before edging Clarissa 10-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game of the night, the Braves were only able to collect five hits, but strung together three of them in the top of the sixth inning to get the bases loaded with two outs. Unfortunately, Clarissa was able to get out of the game and force a strikeout to end the inning.

Clarissa scored a pair of runs in the third inning and three more in the sixth inning on a three-run home run to make the score 5-0.

Payton Rondestvedt led the way offensively for the Braves with a pair of hits, while Justin Dykhoff took the loss on the mound.

In the second game of the day, Bluffton’s bats came alive as they collected 10 hits on their way to a 10-2 win. The Braves wasted little time in jumping all over Clarissa as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning as they brought all nine hitters to the plate to take a 4-1 lead.

Clarissa was able to get runners on second and third in the top of the second inning, but Rondestvedt worked out of the jam to keep them off the scoreboard. Isaac Haman led off the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run for Bluffton, before four more runs would cross the plate to make the score 9-1 in favor of the Braves.

Clarissa added a run in the top of the third inning and Bluffton scored one more in the fourth inning to end the scoring a 10-2.

Rondestvedt picked up the win on the mound, while also leading the charge offensively with Dykhoff as the pair both picked up two hits and scored two runs in the win.

The Braves will return to action on Friday night when they host Dent at 6 p.m. On Sunday they will host Henning at 2 p.m.

The New York Mills Millers will host Clarissa on Friday night and Perham on Saturday in a pair of games in NY Mills. Both games will get underway at 7:30 p.m.
