Busy weekend comes to a close in New York Mills

The annual Lund Mania fishing tournament featured over 70 boats and officially got underway at 7 a.m. on Friday morning near Beach Bums on Otter Tail Lake. Right: Randy Topper and Nate Leininger won the Lund Mania fishing tournament in their first year as a team in the large fishing tournament. The pair caught 28.24 lbs. of fish, winning by just under six pounds over the second place team. Below: Each of the 10 finalist teams were ushered on stage one-by-one to have their results read in front of a large crowd. Middle below: The annual Fish House Festival featured an arts and crafts market, as well as local artists who painted a fish house that was auctioned off later in the night.
Middle right: Certified Auto once again finished on top of the Boatville Drag races on Friday. They have now won three straight times. Right: The Fish House Festival featured a fishing game, while a dunk tank featured a number of local residents taking a turn on top of the tank (above).

Above: Rowland Bauck celebrated his 80th high school reunion during the Summer Celebration parade. He graduated high school in 1944. Other parade entries on Friday night included the New York Mills Marching Eagles (right), the NY Mills consolation champion baseball team (middle right), grand marshals Howard and Lou Legried (middle right), the NY Mills Class of 1974 (below left) and Designs by Tes (below) who threw out both water balloons and flowers.
A total of nine teams competed in the annual Boatville Drag races on Friday afternoon. Certified Auto (below) defended their championship. Other teams included Lakeland Auto (right) and the Babe Ruth baseball team (bottom right).
