Region 14C tournament opens this weekend

In a battle between the top team in the Hi-10 and the top team in the Lake and Pine, the Bluffton Braves fell to Midway by a score of 8-4 on Sunday afternoon.

The Bluffton Braves wrapped up their regular season last week with a pair of road games against Deer Creek and Midway.

Midway took a 7-0 lead after scoring a pair of runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings, as well as a single run in the seventh inning. They also added a run in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Bluffton scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning thanks to five walks and two hit batters. They added another run in the top of the ninth inning, but ultimately fell by a score of 8-4. 

Kyle Dykhoff and Cody Geiser led the way offensively with a pair of hits apiece, while Dustin Geiser took the loss on the mound after pitching four inning and giving up four earned runs. 

Kyle Dykhoff picked up the win on the mound as the Bluffton Braves defeated the Deer Creek Shockers by a score of 9-2 on Wednesday night.

With the loss, Bluffton wraps up its regular season with a record of 14-3 in Region 14C and 11-2 in the Hi-10.
