Missy Hermes from the OTC Historical Society gave a presentation on proper gravestone cleaning last week at the NYM Public Library. Takeaways from the program include never using bleach or a power washer to clean stones. The cleaning agent Hermes used keeps working as it sits on the stone, so the before and after pictures from Monday are shown along with a picture of a few days later after having the agent on it for a few days.
