Above: Logan Small was mobbed by his teammates after crossing home plate during Sunday’s Region 14C championship game in Perham. Small crushed a grand slam home run over the right center fence to put the Millers in front of the Deer Creek Shockers by a score of 5-0. New York Mills would go on to win the game by a score of 6-0 to advance to their third consecutive state tournament. The Millers will return to action on Saturday when they will take on either Deer Creek or the winner of Midway and Perham in the Region 14C finals. Saturday’s game will be held in Perham with a first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. For more information about last week’s region tournament, check out page 5.
