Danny Ray Anderson, 66, of Rothsay, convicted of third-degree drug possession, will have a felony conviction reduced to a misdemeanor if he stays law abiding during a five-year probationary period. A Stay of Imposition was issued by a county court judge on July 2, 2024.

Following his conviction in 2023, a complete comprehensive assessment was ordered by the judge. Anderson followed recommendations of the evaluation. 

He will cooperate with his probation officer regarding the search of his person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property and other issues as directed by his probation officer. Anderson cannot have possession of alcohol or drugs, with the exception of prescribed medications.

Court fines, the responsibility of Anderson, have totaled $500.

Pelican Rapids resident avoids prison time

A Pelican Rapids man, 39-year-old Christopher John Erickson, convicted of fifth-degree drug possession, will avoid 15 months in the St. Cloud correctional facility if remains law abiding during a five-year probationary period.

An amended court decision was issued by a county court judge on July 10, 2024.

The judge ordered a complete comprehensive assessment, with Erickson required to follow recommendations of evaluation, including aftercare. There will be no alcohol or controlled substance use, with the exception of prescribed medications. He must give a DNA sample when directed by his probation officer.

Erickson is required to cooperate with his probation officer regarding the search of his person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property and other issues as directed by his probation officer.

Dent man agrees to alternative sentencing

Noah David Hedstrom, 26, of Dent, convicted of fifth-degree drug possession, will avoid 12 months in the St. Cloud correctional facility if he remains law abiding during a five-year probationary period.

A county court judge, on July 29, 2024, ordered Hedstrom to comply with supervision, including, meeting with probation agents as requested, meet with a compliance officer as requested, keep appointments and submit to any scheduled, random and unannounced alcohol and drug testing.

Additionally, he was ordered to meet behavior expectations including remaining law abiding, work toward obtaining his driver’s license, pursue employment and/or educational goals, address any physical or mental health needs, obtain stable housing and address other behaviors that are identified.

Hedstrom must avoid any substance containing alcohol or any mood-altering chemicals. The judge ordered him to follow treatment recommendations for primary, aftercare and support group attendance and any other recommendations.
