The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met September 12 with 17 members present.

Minutes from the August 8 meeting were approved, and the August 31 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for September 2024 from the Department President was read and discussed.  A notice was received that the official district visit to inspect our auxiliary records will be on November 14.  We received thank you cards and letters for donations to the Armed Forces Service Center at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport, the St. Cloud VA and Leaf River/White Pine Academies.

Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs.

In other business

• Approved a medical grant, donations to the activity funds at the Fergus Falls, Bemidji and Fargo Veterans Homes, and a donation to the President’s Special Project.

• Discussed events that the Auxiliary participated in or hosted during August and thanked members for helping.

• Approved payment of bills.

• The Auxiliary will have information available at the Welcoming Community event on September 17.

• POW/MIA recognition will be held on September 20 at the home football game.

• Finalized plans for the Rummage Sale to be held September 27-29.

• The Member Appreciation Luncheon in honor of Post and Auxiliary members will be held Sunday, October 6 at the VFW.  A drawing will be held for two annual members who attend to receive $50 toward a life membership.

• A Legislative Meet & Greet Town Hall Forum sponsored by the VFW Post 3289 and Auxiliary will be held at the VFW Post on October 7.

• Discussed plans for the VFW Maintenance Fund Auction on October 25.

• The Cancer Aid Benefit drawing for Veterans and Family Support will be held Friday, November 15.  Tickets are $1 each and may be purchased from Auxiliary and Post members.

  Our next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
