Eagles to wrap up season at Underwood Tournament

The New York Mills Eagles picked up their eighth win in the past nine games, outside of tournaments, with a pair of 3-0 wins last week.

On Monday night the Eagles secured a 3-0 win over Parkers Prairie in non-conference action, before sweeping Menahga 3-0 to improve to 5-1 in the Park Region Conference and set up an all-important matchup against PRC leading Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday night. If the Eagles are able to defeat the Wolverines, who are currently 6-0 in the conference, there could be a three-way tie with NY Mills, Wadena-Deer Creek and Sebeka atop the conference standings. 

In addition to their game on the road on Tuesday night, the Eagles will close out their regular season on Thursday at the Underwood Tournament. 

NY Mills is currently 17-7 overall and 5-1 in the conference. The sub section tournament kicks off next week. 

Thursday

NY Mills made quick work of Menahga on Thursday night as they defeated the Braves 3-0. The Eagles won the first two games by an identical 25-20 score, before defeating the Braves 25-16 in the third and final game.

The Eagles were led offensively by Ayla Olson who had 11 kills, while Annika Dunrud finished with eight of her own. Olson and
Chloe Costin each finished with 10 assists, while Gabi Vaden finished with a team-high 12 digs. 

NY Mills was also solid from the serving line as they picked up 10 kills as a team with Kalyn Balbach securing three aces, while Olson, Gabi Vaden and Belle Vaden each finished with two aces and Costin finishing with one.
