Amish buggy driver injured in rural NYM

County sheriff deputies, on Oct. 14, reported two injuries in a Amish buggy accident near New York Mills. A minivan struck the rear of the buggy at 5:50 p.m. on Highway 67. Both drivers were southbound at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Amish buggy, 40-year-old Mabel Stauffer of New York Mills, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Perham Health. The driver of the minivan, 85-year-old Allyn Jokela of New York Mills, was treated at the scene of the accident for non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were lone occupants in their vehicles that collided south of New York Mills at the intersection of Highway 67 and 370th Street.
