Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing shares the stage with Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach during the bureau’s annual meeting in late November at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in Minnetonka.

Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach recently spoke at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. She is grateful for the work and strength of the agriculture community, both here in Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District, and across the state and country.

“I was pleased to be able to join the Minnesota Farm Bureau’s annual meeting,” Fischbach said. “I look forward to continuing our conversations on ways to strengthen our strong, rural communities and ensure that the legislation coming out of Washington, D.C. supports Minnesota’s and our nation’s farmers.”

The Congresswoman shared her disappointment with the Senate’s version of the critical Farm Bill. While the House Ag Committee released a strong farm-friendly farm bill in May, the Senate’s version was only released in November and did not contain components that are critical to the Seventh District, like a meaningfully strengthened farm safety net.

She also shared her excitement for the work the Ways and Means Committee is doing to extend critical tax policies in the coming year.
