The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met November 14 with 18 members and two guests present.

Minutes from the October 10 meeting were approved, and the October 31 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for November 2024 from the Department President was read and discussed.  We received a thank you from the VFW National Home for a membership purchased on behalf of one of our Auxiliary members.  The official district review of our Auxiliary records went well; all records are in order.  A District 9 meeting will be held in Barnesville on December 7.  Thank you notes were received from Auxiliary members for a medical grant and for condolence messages following a death in the family.

Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2024-2025.

In other business:

• Heard a report of community service hours and other donations for September.

• Approved three medical grants and a grant for travel expenses to attend a veteran’s funeral out of state.

• Approved purchase of holiday fruit baskets for shut-ins.

• Approved payment of bills.

• President Shirley Quist presented Thank You gifts to Deb Frost, Lisa Jergenson and Kathy Rosenthal for work on the rummage sale and membership luncheon.

• The Auxiliary raised funds for the VFW Post Maintenance Fund.

• The Veterans Day Program was held Monday, November 11.  A Quilt of Valor was presented.

• Discussed participation in the New York Mills Christmas Tree Festival, Soldier Care Packages and community outreach holiday events.

• Discussed donation requests received from several area organizations.

  Our next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
