New York Mills improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the Park Region Conference with a commanding 86-31 win over Pillager on Friday night. The Eagles took a 46-14 lead at the halftime break thanks to six 3-pointers in the first half and 10 3-pointers in the game.

Gabi Vaden had a big game from the field as she hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 20 points. She scored 13 of her points in the final 18 minutes of action. 

Ayla Olson had a huge first half as she met Pillager’s 14 points on her own with 14 points in the opening 18 minutes of action and finished with 18 points for the gamer. 

Annika Dunrud hit four 3-pointers, including three in the first half alone, as she scored 14 points and Alayna Baune also reached double figures with 10 points of her own. 

Rosemary Laudenbach scored eight points, Violet Radniecki and Alise Schornack each scored five points in the second half, Chloe Costin scored four points and Kyle Lehmann scored two points to round out the scoring. 

The Eagles were scheduled to play Menahga on Tuesday night as part of a boys-girls doubleheader, before traveling to Bertha-Hewitt on Thursday night in a pair of Park Region Conference games.
