The New York Mills Eagles picked up its seventh straight win and eighth win in the past nine games with a 61-60 victory over Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday night. It was the lone game of the week for the Eagles who got a much needed break from heavy game action last week.

On Tuesday night the Eagles drilled nine 3-pointers, including three each from Rosemary Laudenbach and Annika Dunrud, as they were able to pick up a 61-60 win over Wadena-Deer Creek. NY Mills led 29-27 at halftime and held on in the second half despite a comeback attempt by the Wolverines.

Ayla Olson led the way offensively for the Eagles as she scored 18 points, including 10 points in the second half. Gabi Vaden scored 13 points, while Laudenbach and Dunrud each scored 12 points. Chloe Costin rounded out the scoring with five points.

The win avenged an earlier 61-51 loss to the Wolverines as NY Mills will take its 13-5 overall and 8-2 record in the Park Region Conference into action this week against Staples-Motley at home on Tuesday night, before traveling to Pillager on Thursday and Menahga on Friday in a pair of Park Region Conference match ups.
