The New York Mills Eagles had their losing streak hit five games last week as they dropped a pair of games in the Park Region Conference.

On Tuesday night the Eagles fell to fourth ranked and the eventual Park Region Conference champion Henning Hornets by a score of 84-36, before dropping a close game to Bertha-Hewitt by a score of 70-62 on Friday night. The pair of losses drops the Eagles to 7-17 overall and 6-8 in the Park Region Conference.

The Eagles finished their conference season in fifth place with a record of 6-8. Henning won the conference with a record of 14-0, while Pillager was second at 11-3. Wadena-Deer Creek was third at 9-5 and Verndale finished in fourth place with a record of 8-6. Bertha-Hewitt was 4-10 in the conference, while Sebeka was 3-11 and Menahga was 1-13 in the conference.

This week the Eagles will travel to Rothsay on Tuesday night, before wrapping up their regular season on Friday in Laporte. 

Monday

Bergen Roder scored 11 points, while three Eagles chipped in with six points apiece as the NY Mills Eagles fell to the Parkers Prairie Panthers by a score of 74-44 on Monday night. The Eagles trailed by a score of 40-23 at halftime, but were unable to close the deficit in the second half as they dropped the non-conference game.

Roder led the way offensively with 11 points, while Hunter Bosman, Kolston Lofgren and Jacob Thorsrud each scored six points. Heath Hammond scored five points, Gage Brasel and Jeremy Kopveiler each scored three points and Cole Wilson rounded out the scoring with two points.

Tuesday

NY Mills was unable to get by the fourth ranked Henning Hornets as the Eagles fell by a score of 84-36 on Tuesday night. Despite trailing by a score of 49-19 at halftime, the Eagles were able to slow down the Hornet offense a bit in the second half as they gave up just 35 points in the final 18 minutes. 

Unfortunately for the Eagles, Henning hit 14 3-pointers in the loss, while NY Mills hit just 5-16 from behind the 3-point line. The Eagles were able to fare well on the glass as they pulled down 25 rebounds, led by Heath Hammond who had six. Jacob Thorsrud also blocked three Henning shots, but 29 turnovers proved to be too much for the Eagles to overcome.

NY Mills was led offensively by Kolston Lofgren who scored nine points, while Jacob Thorsrud and Hunter Bosman scored six apiece, Hammond and Bergen Roder finished with five apiece and Sam Dresser rounded out the scoring with three points.

Friday

NY Mills hit 10 3-pointers and trailed just 34-32 at halftime in their final Park Region Conference game of the season on Friday night.
Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to get by Bertha-Hewitt as Brady Rach scored 29 points for the Bears on their way to a 70-62 game on Friday. 

Bergen Roder was able to keep the Eagles in the game throughout the contest as he knocked down seven 3-pointers to finish with 22 points on 7-14 shooting from the floor.

Cole Wilson and Gage Brasel both recorded a double-double after scoring an identical 10 points to go along with 10 rebounds apiece. Brasel also led the team with five assists in the loss. 

Hunter Bosman and Kolston Lofgren each scored seven points, while Jacob Thorsrud scored six points to round out the scoring.
