The New York Mills Eagles split a pair of games last week to finish the regular season with a record of 8-18 overall and 6-8 in the Park Region Conference.
After falling to Rothsay on Tuesday night by a score of 75-47, the Eagles hit the road on Friday to take on the Laporte Wildcats in another non-conference match up. This time around the Eagles defeated Laporte by a score of 72-14 to finish their regular season on a high note.
NY Mills will now turn its attention to the sub section tournament where the Eagles received the 10th seed. The winner of Thursday’s game will take on either fourth ranked and third seeded Henning, who is 23-3 on the season, or the winner of sixth seeded Underwood, who is 13-13 on the season or 11th seeded Battle Lake, who is 2-23 on the season, on Saturday afternoon in Perham.
On the other side of the bracket, sixth ranked Ada-Borup West received the top seed with a record of 22-5 overall and will take on either eighth seeded Rothsay who enters the tournament with a record of 7-19 overall or ninth seeded Lake Park-Audubon who is 7-19 overall. Fourth seeded Hillcrest, who is 20-6 on the season, will host fifth seeded Frazee, who is 11-14 overall, in the quarterfinals. The two winners of those games will also play on Saturday in Perham.
