Eagles fall to Rockets in semi-finals to end season

The New York Mills Eagles came up just short in their bid to knock off second seeded Underwood on Saturday afternoon in Perham. Two days after the Eagles defeated Ada-Borup West by a score of 69-44 in the opening round of the sub section tournament, the NY Mills came out on the short end of a 60-53 game to the Underwood Rockets.

The loss ended the NY Mills girls basketball season with a record of 21-7 overall after going on a tear during the 2025 portion of their schedule. After starting the season with a record of 4-4, NY Mills went 17-3 to end their season, including last weekend’s loss to Underwood. During that stretch the Eagles won 14 straight games and 15 of their final 16 games to end the regular season.

With the win the second seeded Underwood Rockets will take on top seeded Hillcrest on Tuesday night in Perham for the sub section title.
