The New York Mills Apostolic Lutheran Church is gearing up for a Lenten Fish Fry Fundraiser that will be held in their church on Friday, April 11 from 5-7 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit youth and families attending Bible camp in July.
“Every year there’s a family camp put on by Lutheran Bible Fellowship at Lahti Retreat Center,” said Pastor Nicholas Kandoll. “It’s from Wednesday to Sunday and it’s a time of fun and fellowship around God’s Word in Rabbit Bay, Michigan up in the Upper Peninsula. The camp is right on Lake Superior and we are raising money to help our families and youth who are interested to attend.”
The menu includes hand battered Alaskan pollack from Morey’s Seafood Market in Baxter, Minn., along with potato chips, coleslaw, fresh fruit as well as coffee and dessert. A free-will donation will be taken, but all are encouraged to attend regardless of what’s in a person’s wallet. The congregation looks forward to enjoying fellowship with local community members and helping out their youth at the same time.
“Everybody in the community is welcome to attend,” said Kandoll. “We do not have a set price, those who are unable to donate or unable to donate much are certainly welcome to come and enjoy a time of fellowship and supper with us.”
