Otter Tail County Human Services team members are gearing up for National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to recognize the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Otter Tail County remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and supporting families with resources that enable them to thrive.
“Otter Tail County is dedicated to strengthening families and creating a safe and supportive environment for all children,” said Stephanie Olson, Supervisor of the Children and Families Unit. “Prevention is a community responsibility, and when we come together to support families, we create a stronger, healthier future for our children.”
To reinforce these efforts, the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month. This proclamation highlights the county’s dedication to providing resources and programs that promote the social and emotional well-being of children in a safe and stable environment. The resolution calls “upon all people, community agencies, religious organizations, medical facilities, and businesses to recognize this month by dedicating ourselves to the task of improving the quality of life for all children and families.”
All families need support at times, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Building strong community connections and accessing available resources can help families navigate challenges and ensure the safety of children.
