The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met April 10 with 15 members present.

Minutes from the March 13 meeting were approved, and the March Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for April 2025 from the Department President was read and discussed.  We received thank you cards and letters for donations to the Fergus Falls Veterans Home, the New York Mills Close-Up Organization, the New York Mills Food Shelf, the Veterans Quilters Club, an Auxiliary member and from a community member who won a door prize at the cancer benefit last fall.

In other business:

• Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2024-2025.

• Approved payment of current bills.

• Approved the audit report for January-March.

• Approved a donation to the “Dreams for Ivy” project for an area child who is ill.

• Discussed and finalized plans for the chili feed and silent auction to be held at the VFW on Sunday, April 27 for Amanda Weller.

• A Communications Award will be presented to the “New York Mills Dispatch” for helping to promote and publicize Auxiliary business, news and events.

• Several Auxiliary members plan to attend the Loyalty Day and District 9 Convention in Bemidji on Saturday, May 3.

• Buddy Poppy Days were scheduled for Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17.

• Elected the following officers for 2025-2026: President Shirley Quist; Sr. Vice Kathy Rosenthal; Jr. Vice Bonnie Marweg; Treasurer Aune Longfors; Chaplain Tina Moenkedick; Conductor Lisa Jergenson; Guard Judy Anderson; Trustee #3 Celia Piippo; and Trustee #1 Linda Pihlaja.  Myrna Baumgart was appointed Secretary.  Installation of officers will take place at our next meeting.

  Our next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, May 8 at 6 p.m.
