The Bluffton Braves opened their regular season with a 8-2 win over the Nimrod Gnats on Sunday afternoon.
The Braves wasted little time getting on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning when Peyton Rondesvedt reached base safely and stole second base. He would later come around to score to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead.
Bluffton added another run in the fourth inning, two in the sixth inning, one run in the seventh and three runs in the eighth inning to secure the win. In all, Bluffton scored a run in five innings.
Gabe Geiser led the way offensively with a pair of hits and a run scored, while Justin Dykhoff, Rondestvedt, Dustin Geiser and Kevin Tumberg combined to give up just seven its and two runs in the win.
