The New York Mills Eagles posted 15 personal bests and one season best at the United North Central Warrior Invite on Tuesday. 

In their lone action of the week, Shaila Roberts captured first place in the shot put with a personal record throw of 35’ 2 1/4”.

A pair of relay races also helped to pace the girls team with the 4×200-meter relay team of Rosie Tumberg, Lilja Pakkala, Lily Roberts and Rachel Tumberg taking fifth place with a time of 2:10.04, while the 4×100-meter relay team of Lily Roberts, Lyla Hersch, Lucia Constant and Ella Holmes took sixth place with a time of 1:02.18. 

On the boys side, the 4×200-meter relay team of Jake Martinez Zavala, Carter Lien, Grayson Meyer and Tony Nichols dropped almost five seconds off their time from their previous personal best mark to finish in third place with a time of 1:51.27.

Nichols also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.83. 

Carl Peterman picked up a pair of top eight finishes as he took fifth place in the discus with a season best throw of 99’4” and seventh place in the shot put with a personal best mark of 35’ 2 1/2”.

Rachel Tumberg competed in the long jump at last week’s meet in Sebeka.

Lien posted a personal best in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.93 to finish in sixth place.

Other Eagles posting a personal best mark, but not placing in the top eight, includes: Carter Lien in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.44, Jake Martinez Zavala in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.18, Grayson Meyer in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.33 and the discus with a throw of 71’ 1”, Elijah Kaufmann in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.36, Lily Roberts in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.25,
Daisy Lalum in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.7 and the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:15.64, Lucia Constant in the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.01, Rosie Tumberg in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.87, Lyla Hersch in the 200-meter dash with a time of 33.07 and Ava Carlson in the discus with a throw of 57.7”. 

This week the Eagles participate in the Section 6A true team meet in Pelican Rapids on Tuesday, before traveling to Frazee on Thursday for another invite.
