Music, hot dogs, popcorn and Elvis Presley—oh my!

One of the more popular summertime activities in the Ottertail region will once again be making a return to the Ottertail Community Park next week. The summer concert series is back for its 10th season and will once again feature a mixture of musical performances every other Tuesday night throughout the summer. The concerts are free of charge and include musical selections that make it a family-friendly activity for people of all ages.

The activity is sponsored by the Ottertail Business and Community Association and president Ron Grobeck said many of the bands that were selected this year have either played in Ottertail in the past and are back by popular demand. New bands are carefully selected to ensure they perform a wide range of songs that people are familiar with, or fit with the family-centric vibe the Ottertail Music in the Park series has become known for over the years.

The first concert will be held on Tuesday, June 10 and feature the Red Letter Band, before Elvis Presley impersonator Todd Anderson takes the stage on June 24. The Blue English band will play on July 8, before Rick Adams performs on July 22.

The concert series will help to kick off OtterFest on August 9 with the band the Sideliners, before Tainted Vibes plays on August 12. The summer concert series will end with Katie Baker and Sam on August 28.

All of the concerts will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the exception of the August 9 performance during OtterFest, which will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The last music event on August 26 will be held from 6-8 p.m.

The concert series has grown over the years from just 50 people who showed up for the first show on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 to routinely drawing 300-500 people in the community park.

All of the concerts are free of charge, while hot dogs, popcorn, chip, root beer floats, pop and water are also served at the concerts as well.

Those who attend are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on as seating will not be provided.
