The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met May 8 with 18 members present.

Minutes from the April 10 meeting were approved, and the April Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for May 2025 from the Department President was read and discussed.  Our Auxiliary received the following District awards: Veterans and Family Support (1st Place), Youth Activities (2nd Place), Hospital (2nd Place), Auxiliary Outreach (3rd Place), and Certificates of Appreciation for Americanism and Scholarships.  Several students received Patriotic Youth Awards for participating in the Illustrating America Contest.

Thank you notes were received for a donation to the Henning Food Shelf, providing a prayer service honoring a deceased Auxiliary member, and organizing the Amanda Weller Benefit.

In other business:

• Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2024-2025.

• Approved payment of current bills.

• Approved a monetary gift to the 2024-2025 Department of Minnesota President in appreciation for her work for every Auxiliary in the State of Minnesota.

• Several Auxiliary members attended the District 9 convention in Bemidji on May 3.  Among the District officers elected for 2025-2026 are: Shirley Quist – President, Celia Piippo – Secretary, and Myrna Baumgart – 3-year Trustee.

• Discussed plans for participation during May 16 & 17 Poppy Days, Memorial Day observance on May 26 and the RMH Breakfast on June 15.

• Resumed election of 2025-2026 officers for our Auxiliary.  Celia Piippo was elected Treasurer and Aune Longfors was elected Trustee #3.  Other officers will hold the positions for which they were elected in April.

• Designated delegates for the State Convention and the National Convention.

• Draped the Charter for 2006-2007 Department President Trudy Pierce and 3289 Member Sally Limanen who passed away in March.

  Our next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m.
