Austin Maneval and Teagan Lausten combined to throw a one-hitter and gave up just one unearned run on New York Mills’ way to a commanding 13-1 win over Clarissa on Friday night. The lone hit for Clarissa came in the top of the first inning with one out, while the lone run came in the top of the sixth inning on an error with two outs.
Maneval picked up the win by going four innings and striking out just one hitter, while Lausten struck out four hitters and didn’t surrender a hit in relief.
NY Mills scored at least one run in every inning they came to the plate, including two runs in the first, second and fifth innings, as well as three runs in the third and fourth innings and a single run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Among the highlights of the commanding win was a two-run home run off the bat of Bode Roberts in the bottom of the fourth inning that put NY Mills up by a score of 10-0.
As a team the Millers outhit the Flyers by a 16-1 margin with Brayden Ehnert and Logan Small each collecting three hits, while Roberts, Zach Hocking, Maneval and Braxton Ehnert each finished with two hits in the win.
The Millers ended up with more extra base hits than Clarissa had in total hits with Logan Small collecting a pair of doubles, Brayden Ehnert and Derin Gaudette each collecting a double of their own. Braxton Ehnert hit a triple and Roberts hit his two-run home run in the win.
Saturday’s game against Clarissa was called with NY Mills down 2-1 in the third inning due to lightning. The game will be made up in the future.

Adam Patron laced a hit down the line during Friday’s game in New York Mills.
