The New York Mills Eagles Fishing Team continued its strong season with five teams finishing in the top eight during the third Heart O’ Lakes High School Fishing League tournament, held Tuesday evening on Rush Lake. Despite tougher fishing conditions, the Eagles delivered another solid performance.

Leading the way was the third-place team of boat captain Brandon Marsh with anglers Avery Oyster, Caroline Schwantes and Jeffery Schwantes.

Two NY Mills teams tied for fifth place: Boat captain Josh Balcer with anglers Brylee Balcer and Sadie Hotakainen; Boat captain Matt Richter with anglers Cass Ament, Reed Rastedt and Wyatt Helmbrecht

In sixth place was the team of boat captain Logyn Saewert and angler Greysen Saewert.

Leading the way was the third-place team of angler Avery Oyster, boat captain Brandon Marsh, and anglers Jeffery Schwantes and Caroline Schwantes.

The seventh-place finish went to boat captain Todd Lorentz with anglers Royce Lorentz and Gannon Theisen (not pictured).

The Eagles will wrap up regular season competition on Thursday, July 17, with the final Heart O’ Lakes tournament set for Star Lake.
