0West Central Initiative invites the community to join a powerful conversation about the global effects of plastic pollution. These gatherings will feature a screening of Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics, followed by a thought-provoking discussion about what this means for public health, local ecosystems, and our everyday choices.
“Plastic production and pollution continue to increase and it is critical that we all take action to reduce plastic use and advocate for solutions that go beyond consumer choice to make a real difference,” said Cedar Walters, West Central Initiative’s Director of Climate and Sustainability Programs. “I hope that people walk away from these screenings of Plastic People with a renewed sense of urgency, as well as actionable solutions they can use to make a difference in their community.”
Whether individuals are committed to advancing environmental justice, intrigued by the science of microplastics, or eager to deepen their understanding, this event offers valuable insights for all.
Three screenings are being planned in the area and include:
• August 5: Moorhead Public Library from 6-8 p.m.
• August 18: Fergus Falls Public Library from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• September 8: Morris Theatre from 6-8 p.m.
