The New York Mills Civic & Commerce Association is gearing up for their annual Corn Feed, which is set for Friday, Aug. 15 at the VFW Post #3289 from 4-7 p.m.

“We are excited to host the annual NY Mills Corn Feed again this year,” said president Julie Roberts. “This is a Civic & Commerce event that has been happening for decades, and it’s always been our way of saying thanks to our community for all they do to help us live our small town big life.”

The Corn Feed is one of the Civic & Commerce’s biggest events throughout the year and hosts both a free corn feed, as well as the Cultural Center’s annual Kalevala Puppet Pageant, which takes the stage outside the VFW to serve as the night’s entertainment.

Community members have been coming to the Corn Feed for decades, Roberts estimated that the event has been going on for the past 30-40 years. This year’s event will have mouthwatering sweetcorn from Buehler’s Produce near Ottertail.

“We order 180 dozen ears of corn,” said Roberts. “Make sure to come hungry.”
