The New York Mills Millers split a pair of games in the Region 11C tournament over the weekend, but perhaps more importantly, have survived to play in the third and final weekend of the regions.
After taking an early 1-0 lead over Sauk Centre on Saturday afternoon in Perham on a Bode Roberts solo home run, the top seed from the Hi-10 Millers fell to the second seed from the Resorters League Titans by a score of 4-3 in 10 innings.

Saturday’s loss dropped NY Mills into the elimination bracket where they picked up a commanding 10-0 win in eight innings over Clarissa on Sunday afternoon in Perham. Austin Maneval picked up a complete game shut out on the mound, while Logan Small led the way with five RBIs in the win.
With the win the Millers have advanced to the semi-finals of the elimination bracket where they will take on the winner of Deer Creek and Urbank on Friday, Aug. 8 at approximately 7:30 p.m. The game between the Shockers and Bombers was suspended on Sunday due to inclement weather with Deer Creek winning by a score of 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning.
The winner of Friday night’s game will take on the loser of Sauk Centre and Perham on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the right to advance to the state tournament.
The state tournament will be held from Aug. 15-17, Aug. 22-24 and Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 in Browntown, Hutchinson, Gaylord and Glencoe.
