A motion by County Commissioner Kurt Mortenson of rural Underwood and seconded by Commissioner Dan Bucholz of rural Perham was unanimously passed by county board members on Aug. 12. This resulted in a grant contract agreement between the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT).
This allows for grant funding to support the improvement of camera technology in the Otter Tail County Jail adjacent to the county courthouse just south of downtown Fergus Falls.
Engineering services agreements reached
County board members, on Aug. 12, authorized two engineering services agreements.
The first pertained to a design engineering services agreement with Moore Engineering, Inc. for the Rural Intersection Lighting project. Construction costs will be funded through the Local Partnership Program.
The second engineering services agreement was for a design engineering services agreement with Houston Engineering, Inc., for culvert design for the Highway 51 bridge project in north central Otter Tail County.
County board assists Eagle Lake District
Otter Tail County is a member of the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust. Whereas a current member of the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust can sponsor a new entity for membership, county board members approved Otter Tail County sponsoring the Eagle Lake Improvement District for membership.
The purpose is for the improvement district, south of Battle Lake, to obtain insurance coverage.
