The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met August 14 with 13 members and one guest present.

Minutes from the July 10 meeting were approved, and the July Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for August 2025 from the Department President was read and discussed.  Information about the September 19-21 Fall Conference in Plymouth, MN was shared.  A thank you letter was received from the Fargo VA Health Care System for the donation of quilts for inpatient Veterans.

In other business:

• Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2025-2026.

• Approved payment of current bills.

• Approved adopting a military unit to receive Holiday Soldier Care packages in December.

• Members present signed a card for a local person who recently joined the US Army.

• The Auxiliary handed out 500 flags at the New York Mills Parade on July 11.

• Articles for the newsletter are due August 25.

• District 9 organizational meetings will be held August 25 in Thief River Falls and September 6 in Barnesville.  The regular District 9 meeting will be September 13 in Roseau.

•  Discussed plans for future activities and events:

• Community Corn Feed – August 15

• Wolf Lake Harvest Festival – August 16

• Finn Creek Folk Festival – August 16 & 17

• Welcoming Communities – September 16

• Auxiliary Rummage Sale – September 26, 27 & 28

•  Past District 9 Commander Kelly Booge was introduced and spoke to the group.  He thanked the Auxiliary for supporting the Post.
