Jemma Goeson won the junior high race in Pillager last week.

The New York Mills cross country team ran last Thursday on the hilly course at the Pillager meet held at Madden’s West Golf Course. 

In the junior high girls’ race, Jemma Goeson took first place and Helena Kimber took fourth. 

For the junior high boys, Layton Meyer came in third place, while Bryce Kopveiler fifth, Gus Tumberg sixth, Hayden Bleichner seventh and Finn Costin finished in ninth place. 

In the varsity races, Audrey Weller placed ninth for the girls, while Jacob Thorsrud led the boys as he placed sixth.

After the meet coach Greg Esala said, “ our runners continue to improve and we have had many race times lowered by as much as 2-3 minutes. This shows our runners hard work is paying off.”

Jacob Thorsrud placed sixth at the Pillager meet.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23 the Eagles will compete in the Bertha-Hewitt meet held at Double Eagle Golf Course near Eagle Bend.
