The New York Mills team placed seventh out of eight teams at the Bertha-Hewitt meet.

The New York Mills cross country team competed in the Bertha-Hewitt meet last Tuesday and ran well on a hot day. 

Jacob Thorsrud led the boys varsity as he took 27th place and had a season’s best time. Also having a season’s best were: Dawson Seelhammer and Audrey Weller. Loren Underdahl again set a personal best time. 

The boys varsity team placed seventh out of nine teams competing and the Eagles had eighth grader Noah Radniecki helping the team as he ran his first varsity race.  

In the junior high races, Jemma Goeson took sixth place and Helena Kimber placed 17th for the girls, while Chavez Cannon placed fourth and Layton Meyer took 11th in the boys race. 

“It’s great to see the continued improvement of our runners. That’s what we strive for,” said Coach Esala after the meet. 

This Homecoming week the Eagles will be busy as they run in Brandon on Monday and at the OTC meet held at Balmoral Golf Course on Thursday.
