Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) of Greater East Otter Tail County is gearing up for an afternoon/evening of good food, good fellowship, and enticing “made with love” items on October 12. The Fall Fundraiser is a great time to connect with community members and friends while helping to support the work of Love INC.
The event features a delicious meal of picnic favorites: pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, and chips. Other highlights include a Silent Auction, Games, and a “Made with Love” Market, featuring great homemade baked goods, canned items, and fresh produce. The event starts at 4 p.m.and goes until 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. Organizers encourage attendees to enjoy all that takes place and to be sure to catch one of the presentations at either 5 p.m. or 6 p.m.
One of the most important aspects of this fundraiser is bringing awareness to local communities of the needs and challenges of neighbors in the area. The mission of Love In the Name of Christ is to mobilize local churches to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ, and this involves intentionally listening to neighbors and prayerfully helping them connect with needed resources and ministries provided by area churches and agencies. Many people have little insight into the difficulties these neighbors experience before they call Love INC, and the October 12 Fall Fundraiser is focused on helping attendees understand these realities. Attendees will become acquainted with these challenges through displays and the presentations at the Fall Fundraiser and attendees can better understand what their potential donations can help to accomplish—be they donations of time or money.
The Board of Directors of Love In the Name of Christ, our Executive Director Emily Ripley, and 13 partner churches invited people to attend the Love INC Fall Fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 4-6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, in Perham.
